From Tiles to Thoroughbreds: A Day of Industrial and Equestrian Insight
29 November 2025
Kunigal
On November 29, 2025, a small team embarked on an exciting factory visit to H&R Johnson Tiles in Kunigal, aimed at professional development, learning, and networking with industry experts. The project, titled "Ceramic Tile Factory visit," saw members—Rohit, Aditi, Akshay, and Varsha—depart from Bangalore at 11 AM.
The journey led them to Johnson Tiles, where they were warmly welcomed by company authorities. Following a necessary safety induction, the group plunged into an extensive shop floor tour, covering approximately 30 acres. The sheer scale of the operation provided a unique opportunity to explore "humongous engineering machines and the working of the assembly line in real life," offering invaluable insights into the intricacies of modern manufacturing. Lunch was enjoyed at the factory canteen, followed by a visit to the factory outlet showroom, showcasing a vast array of floor and wall tiles.
But the learning didn't stop there! The team maximized their trip by also visiting the nearby Kunigal Stud farm. This bonus stop allowed them to learn about horse breeding and training for races, expanding their network to include the farm's administration.
This stand-alone project successfully impacted four lives, fulfilling its goal of professional development while providing an engaging and memorable day of exploration. The team returned to Bangalore at 8:30 PM, armed with fresh perspectives on industrial engineering and assembly lines, making the day a resounding success!
